Strategic Planning and Design

Our Approach:

Our approach to strategic planning connects key stakeholders with organizational shared priorities and objectives for the creation of a compelling future.

The strength and permanence of an organization begins with its foundational principles; these principles inform the connections between purpose, place and pathway. A clear and well-executed strategic plan energizes these connections and ensures the intentional forward-movement of the organization.

Our Process:

Our process is inclusive and collaborative. Broad, intentional engagement across your community ensures a shared pathway for a clear, bold, and achievable future.

The following outlines the process elements we use to facilitate the development of an organizational strategic plan.

  1. Inquiry – Consultation with leadership to determine your organizational intentions, needs and hoped for outcomes.

  2. Collaboration – Elarton Point Strategies works with your onsite teams to design the various elements and activities of the strategic planning development process. This collaborative approach ensures engagement is broad and meaningful and there is ongoing purpose and progress for your organization.

  3. Environmental Scan –

a.)    External/Contextual: review of local, national and international trends in key operational areas, research of competitor organizations, report of geographic, socio-economic and cultural trends that impact organizational planning and decision-making; and

b.)    Internal/Organizational: review your existing priorities, vision, mission and values, SWOT analysis, previously collected data.

4. Surveys – Survey your key stakeholder groups to measure satisfaction, identify priorities and gather perceptions.

5. Community Engagement – Facilitated conversations in small and large key stakeholder groups to share learnings from the environmental scan and survey data, and to further identify your shared community priorities.

6. Strategic Development – Using the data and input gathered, identify your organizational priorities, from which to build a comprehensive tactical plan with implementation strategies, timelines, accountabilities, resource needs and measures of success.

7. Implementation, Continuous Improvement, and Leadership Development – Strategic development processes and the plans that come as a result require intentional implementation strategies, supported by ongoing leadership development and organizational improvement. Elarton Point Strategies extends its partnership with organizations to facilitate and guide all facets of the implementation journey once the plan has been completed and approved. This support includes ongoing monitoring of the plan implementation, annual review of metrics, coaching for leadership teams and individual leaders, change and transition management training.
